Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences students are eligible for several program-specific awards in addition to College of Health Sciences scholarships. These awards are made possible by the generosity of donors.

Nate Brady Memorial Student Support Fund
This student support fund is provided by Friends of Nate Thrive: Advocates for Behavioral Health. The mission of this organization is to “Advocate by raising awareness of the public health crisis our young people are facing. Educate academia, first responders and families of young people. Legislate to shape policy that will create an environment where every young person can #Thrive into adulthood.”

Grants are available to help fund housing for students who must travel to complete clinical training. Applications are due June 1. To qualify for the grant, a recipient must:

  1. Be admitted to a program in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS)
    Preference will be given to applicants who have been admitted to the University of Missouri Nuclear Medicine program.
  2. Be assigned to clinical training site(s) that will result in the applicant incurring travel-related housing expenses necessary to complete clinical training requirements for the CDS program to which they have been admitted.
  3. Provide documentation that the recipient has successfully completed one of the following training courses that are offered at a small fee or at no change.
    a. Mental Health First Aid – Youth, Adult, or Higher Ed Version
    b. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
    c. Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
    d. Youth Peer Support (YPS)
    e. Whole Health Action Management (WHAM) Peer Support Training
  4. Submit an essay describing methods or activities that will help Friends of Nate increase awareness and point students in need to available resources at the University of Missouri and in the Columbia community in general. For example, are there student organizations that might be willing to engage and work with us in this mission? If applicable, the essay should also include the student’s thoughts on how the tools discussed in the training could have benefitted them during their college career.

Clinical Laboratory Science

Missouri Hospital Association Clinical Lab Sciences Endowed Scholarship

One or more annual scholarship awards shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in the CLS Program in CHS. Selection criteria may include academic excellence and financial need.

Western Pathologists Quality Assurance Association / American Society for Clinical Pathology Scholarship

One or more annual scholarship awards shall be given to students enrolled in CHS. Recipient must be full-time undergraduate CLS majors with senior level status. Recipients shall be in good academic standing and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Financial need is not required.


Mary Sebacher Radiography Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students in the professional phase of the Radiography program who demonstrate the qualities of Respect, Responsibility and Excellence. Non-traditional students are encouraged to apply. Learn more.

Respiratory Therapy

Tim and Rosemary Hogan Endowed Scholarship for Respiratory Therapy

One or more annual scholarship awards shall be given to students enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy program in the College of Health Sciences.

Blake Rudeen Memorial Scholarship Fund

One or more annual awards to senior-level students in pediatric respiratory therapy. The selected recipient(s) must be in good academic standing, with preference given to a student with financial need. If no student meets the criteria as stated in number 1, then the award will be made available to a student in CHS who has indicated an interest in pediatric rehabilitation.

James Whitacre Scholarship

Awarded to a Senior RT student who goes above and beyond with empathy for the patient and family.
