Radiography program earns reaccreditation

Aug. 10, 2021 The Mizzou Radiography program earned reaccreditation for eight years from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Respiratory therapy alumna among first to receive ECMO certification

July 26, 2021   Respiratory therapists continue to be an integral part of the health care teams working to save the lives of those afflicted with COVID-19. Now, respiratory therapists can be officially certified as ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) specialists, and Mizzou Health Professions alumna and respiratory therapist Andrea Johnson was part of the first group to take the exam to become officially certified.    ECMO is a process in which blood is pumped outside of the body to a heart-lung machine that removes carbon dioxide and sends oxygen-filled blood back to tissues in…

Spring 2021 Dean’s List

June 15, 2021 Congratulations to all students who made the Spring 2021 Dean’s List! Each school and college at the University of Missouri determines its own dean’s list eligibility for undergraduate students. Students who had privacy holds in MyZou are excluded from public lists. To qualify for the dean’s list in the School of Health Professions, a student must earn a 3.3 GPA in a minimum of 12 graded (A-F) credit hours. June 10, 2021 Sara Parker, MPH ’14, associate clinical professor of Respiratory Therapy, is among the newest inductees to the MU chapter of Delta Omega, a national honor society for public health. Respiratory Therapy receives elite Apex Recognition Award

Congratulations to our Respiratory Therapy programs, which received the Apex Recognition Award from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC). Mizzou operates bachelor’s degree programs with an emphasis in respiratory therapy in Columbia and at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
