Clinical Education is a key part of student development. Mizzou DPT students are introduced to clinical practice initially through the pro-bono clinic, PhysZOU. Paired with other cohorts under the supervision of faculty clinicians, students evaluate and treat adult and pediatric clients with neurological and orthopedic conditions. In addition, students have four full-time clinical experiences threaded throughout the curriculum. These full-time experiences under the supervision of clinical instructors are scattered across the country and include a variety of experiences – acute care, out-patient clinics, rehabilitation facilities, pediatric hospitals, school systems, skilled nursing facilities, home health and more. Students must meet essential requirements and achieve established benchmarks as they learn and grow in the clinical environment. The rich learning environment on these clinical experiences brings the classroom knowledge to reality. The University of Missouri Department of Physical Therapy is grateful to the many clinical instructors who share their expertise with our students.
