Occupational Therapy

OTA curriculum

We are in the process of making some minor revisions to our existing OTA curriculum to best reflect contemporary practice and meet ACOTE accreditation standards. These changes will be seen starting with our OTA Class of 2028 cohort, starting in June 2026:

Students must successfully complete 16 weeks of Level II fieldwork as well as completion of a baccalaureate project within 24 months of completion of the didactic portion of the program.

Additional requirements regarding program progression, retention, and graduation requirements are located in the MU OT Student Handbook

Delivery model

Mizzou OTA students will have on-campus coursework.  Most didactic coursework in the OTA program takes place in person in classrooms and labs in Lewis & Clark Halls. Occasionally, classes are scheduled in other University of Missouri campus buildings.

Fieldwork placements take place at off-campus sites that have a written agreement with the Department of Occupational Therapy.

All campus buildings are accessible and equipped with Wi-Fi access for online and hybrid learning needs.
