Tiger OT clinic
Teaching tomorrow’s practitioners by serving today’s families.
Tiger OT is a program that provides hands-on clinical opportunities for student practitioners in both traditional outpatient settings and the community. Student practitioners work collaboratively with clients of all ages and backgrounds to maximize potential in every aspects of daily life. Tiger OT provides students authentic learning experiences which connect classroom educational learning to the real life needs of clients, in everyday places such as the home, preschools and recreational settings. Students also learn important skills such as collaboration with community partners in order to address programmatic and systemic needs.
Tiger OT serves both children and adults who may be experiencing challenges associated with neurologic, musculoskeletal, mental health and developmentally based conditions. Specific conditions include stroke, head injury, amputation, chronic pain, autism, cerebral palsy, visual impairments and spinal cord injury.
Common services offered by Tiger OT
- Evaluation and individualized treatment to address functional limitations in self-care, household chores, play and leisure participation and other daily living skills.
- Adaptive equipment
- Environmental modification
- Fabrication of custom orthotics
- Assistive technology
Hours and location
The Tiger OT Clinics are located in Clark Hall and Lewis Hall on the University of Missouri campus.

Low-vision services
We work with adults and children who are having difficulty completing everyday life activities including cooking, school work, leisure activities, shopping, and community mobility as a result of low vision.
Multiple Sclerosis Institute
The MS Institute provides a variety of free services to individuals to complete home safety assessments.
S.W.I.M.
The S.W.I.M. program is an adapted swimming lesson program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders or similar conditions.

MU OT provides life skills training to adults at Encircle Technologies – a program that trains neurodiverse individuals and prepares them for employment.
