Jan. 18, 2022 Congratulations to 1,507 Health Professions students who made the Fall 2021 Dean’s List! Each school and college at the University of Missouri determines its own dean’s list eligibility for undergraduate students. Students who had privacy holds in MyZou are excluded from public lists. To qualify for the dean’s list in the School of Health Professions, a student must earn a 3.30 GPA in a minimum of 12 graded (A-F) credit hours. Dean’s list honors only apply to Fall and Spring semesters. Courses graded S/U or Hearer do not count toward the required 12 graded hours. Self-paced courses…

Interprofessional Education Day success
Sept. 2, 2021 Last week, more than 300 students from six Health Professions professional programs gathered for Interprofessional Education Day. Students participated in team-building activities and heard from public speakers Lauren and Colleen Murphy. Colleen wrote a book called “Murphys Don’t Quit,” chronicling their family’s story after Lauren suffered severe brain damage in a running accident. Interprofessional education prepares health care professionals to best care for their patients, their colleagues and themselves. Aug. 10, 2021 The Mizzou Radiography program earned reaccreditation for eight years from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Respiratory therapy alumna among first to receive ECMO certification
July 26, 2021 Respiratory therapists continue to be an integral part of the health care teams working to save the lives of those afflicted with COVID-19. Now, respiratory therapists can be officially certified as ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) specialists, and Mizzou Health Professions alumna and respiratory therapist Andrea Johnson was part of the first group to take the exam to become officially certified. Respiratory Therapist inducted into Public Health honor society
June 10, 2021 Sara Parker, MPH ’14, associate clinical professor of Respiratory Therapy, is among the newest inductees to the MU chapter of Delta Omega, a national honor society for public health.
